What are the accepted file extensions for uploading an excel file or work document?

I am trying to upload Word and an Excel document into Confluence and I'm getting the error message "This file type is not supported"

Here is an article that has all the accepted file types and sizes. You may be getting this error due to the size of the file you are trying to upload. There is a size limit of under 100 MB.
