Upgrading from 4.2 to something current

mbrown September 27, 2019

I am currently running Confluence 4.2 on a red hat 5 with mysql and i want to move to a newer box, os, etc and upgrade to a current version of confluence.  Eventually move it to the cloud,

Can some one assist with suggestions and a path, i am also running windows and would not mind moving to windows.

Hi

if you plan to upgrade your box, have a look to

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/upgrading-confluence-4578.html

you will need to do an intermediate step and upgrade to 5.10.x and then to a newer version.

While doing the upgrades you should also check for the compatibility of your database, java version etc. might make sense to upgrade these as well

Cheers
