Upgrade Error from 7.2.1 to 7.12.1

Marcel Baur July 1, 2021

Hello

i searched but haven`t found the needed 100% clear answer.

We upgraded our Confluence 7.2.1 > to 7.12.1

After the upgrade we edited the server.xml to fix the settings we had before.

When we started Confluence the first time we got this error:

2021-06-30_13-55-39.jpg

This is our current setup:

Windows server 2016 Version 1607
SQL 2017 Express 14.0.1000

Jira 8.6.1
Confluence 7.2.1 > Upgrade to 7.12.1

All pre_checks have been green, also those for the DB check

The main question now is, is our SQL 2017 Express setup compatible or are the problems related to the SQL Express Version we use?

Here are the versions declared, but is not 100% clear that Express is not supported.

Please help me to get the right answer. We have rolled back and have to know if we can proceed with SQL Express or we have to change that.

Regards

Marcel

SQL Express should not be used in a production environment.  I would revert back to before you did the upgrade and everything was working.  Then upgrade your DB by migration g it to a supported DB and then do the upgrade.  If you cannot revert back then back up the db and try upgrading it to see if that fixes the issue.
