Unable to find user while granting access

Question

I am trying to grant access to a page and when I am trying to find the user, it will not show up. I have tried user name as well as full name.

Stupid question, how can I find out if its cloud or server? It is one specific person. I see his name in the  permissions tab in the individual users section. I am trying to add him to a specific page and it will not find his name at all!

Where are you trying to grant access for the user?

Are you on Confluence Cloud or Server?

There are two places to allow access:

* Permission of a Space
* Permission of a Page

I can send you images once I know which instance type you have.
