The problem exactly as described in
> When copy/pasting an image into Outlook or Word, nothing appears. Using Chrome, a very small outline of a box appears with no image inside. Using IE11 or Firefox has the same results, but in the outline is actually the size of the image.
However, that fix in above page doens't work for me using Microsoft Word 2016 -- I have disabled 'Protected View' just as eplained but the problem still remains.
Seven years later this issue still happens, shame on you, Atlassian!
I try to paste images from a confluence webpage into an email - it does not work
- on other sites it normally does.
Could it be related to the use of blob urls: <img src="blob:https://atlassian......../> ?

I have the same issue and unchecked the options like it is described in the article.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

I have encountered this same issue. I don't have a long term answer to your question, unfortunately. But, I have found you can drag your image to the desktop, then drag it to Word/Office etc. and it will appear properly.

Yeah, that's basically download the image, which is what I've been doing, which is really annoying, because we are forced to do downloading then cleaning up.
Thanks though.
