Test email works but password reset email fails

Hi,

Test email and some other email features work.

Password resets are not being sent.

In the log I see:

Unknown error 'Could not initialize class com.atlassian.confluence.mail.template.MultipartBuilder' sending a notification.

I checked mime type after googling a bit and removed the one line I added. But still not sending. 

I think this is also affecting other notifications.

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you!

Have you recently made any other changes to your Confluence server instance? When you removed the mime type line, did you completely shut down Confluence prior to making the change? 

If you are still having the issue, let us know the following:

  • What version of Confluence are you using?
  • Are you able to receive any Confluence notifications via email?
  • Can you show us the whole stack trace for that error in your logs?

Did you solved this issue?

I've the exact same symptoms and possible cause.

I've removed the offending line in my atlassian/confluence/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/mime.types file but it still doesn't work.

Do I need to restart confluence for my change to become active?
