Support for .xlsm files??

SallyD April 16, 2012

I was able to attach an xlsm file and can open it from the Attachments page in Excel using IE8, not FF. I cannot use the Confluence viewfile macro to display portions of the file. It apprently does not recognize the xslm file extension.

I'm still learning the various macros. Is there another that would let me display any portion of this file?

Atlassian, is there a plan to support these files with the Excel macro?

Thanks

Sally

As i understand this issue, it is not about editing excel files (which works fine).

The problem is to display a xlsm-file on the wiki-page. I currently have the same problem:

  • xlsx is shown: {viewxls:name=foo_bar.xlsx}
  • xlsm is not shown {viewxls:name=foo_bar.xlsm}

Hi Sally -

You should be able to configure the WebDAV plugin to recognise excel-files ending with xlsm. Under "Tools", choose "WebDAV Launcher options" and add the respective file extension.

This should work with xls, xlsx, and xlsm. It worked for me under Windows XP with Firefox using the WebDAV plugin in order to use the "Edit in Office"-functionality.

Hope this helps, Andreas
