Restricting confluence content

April Hawley December 6, 2021

I know you can restrict by space and page, but is there a way to restrict certain content on a page?  I have a page that i want to be "public" to our org, but one section I want to be able to restrict.

TIA

Out of box restriction-wise, no, those are for whole pages only.

You might try to workaround it by including something like an 'excerpt include' or 'include page' macros, from restricted pages, and then the users cannot see the content if they cannot access the source pages of the macros (but they may be under the impression the macro is faulty, since it will error out e.g. "page not found" and such).

To do a full fledged setup you would need something similar to https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/130/macro-security-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview, though there are a few similar plugins.
