We do currently use "Atlassian Confluence 3.4.8". But like to upgrade to 5.3.
Now, I looked up this article, which mentions two different ways:
1. if you want to move from Confluence 3.x to Confluence 5.x, you should first upgrade from 3.x to 4.x, then from 4.x to 5.x.
2. If you are upgrading from a version earlier than Confluence 3.5, you must use the manual upgrade procedure.
I hope that someone could clarify what is recommended now. Because both variants do fit.
And what versions should I use in my upgrade procedure? 4.X. is unspecific.
Additional information: I want to upgrade to latest Confluence version (which is 5.3.).
You should first do the Manual upgrade from your current version 3.4.8 to 3.5.17.
Then you can do the new upgrade procedure from 3.5.17 to 4.3.7 and then to 5.3.1.
Don't forget to check if your plugins still work on the new versions!
