Problems Connecting Confluence with IIS

Alex Lolato April 19, 2016

My objective is to require a device to hold the proper certificate before being able to access my Confluence. I started out [and stalled] attempting to get IIS going. I've followed a couple of different guides involving the installation and troubleshooting of IIS integration, but still no luck.

Environment:

  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • IIS 8.5
  • Confluence Version 5.9.8

  • Build Number 6216

  • Tomcat Connector Version 1.2.40
  • Tomcat IIS Connector

Your third link is a good one to start with, but I also find https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/integrating-jira-with-iis-185729648.html very useful (skim it until you reach section 4)

Generally, you'll find it easiest to get it working without SSL first, then add it later.  SSL is a pain to configure, but if you can start from "it works over http", it vastly simplifies all the possible problems you get!

This is starting to get the best of me. I feel like I'm missing something but after reading through the docs and checking my changes multiple times, I'm at a loss.
