Need help with Space access

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-grant-access-to-one-space-only-to-a-user-in-confluence-815244321.html

I have followed the exact steps in the link above, however user is still able to access other spaces and pages. I want the user to access only a particular space and NOT other spaces or pages.

You have to make sure anonymous access is off as well. You removed all groups from this user?

Josh, firstly thanks for your reply. Appreciate.

yes anonymous access is off. I have removed all groups for this user. When this user logins i see that the confluence group is auto enabled.

A workaround that i figured out is > for each space I have added restrictions that does not include the group that this particular user belongs to. That way the user cannot access any other space except the space the user belong to.
