Migrate Content from Hosted to Downloaded Wiki

Paul Banas June 14, 2012

I am migrating my wiki from a hosted solution to a downloaded solution. In the process of bringing up my downloaded wiki, I am prompted for a "site/space backup". Do I just export the hosted wiki? If so, what format should I select (HTML or XML)?

Hi Paul,

If you're using Confluence Hosted, simply export to XML and then restore the backups on the download instance:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Site+Backup+and+Restore

If you're using Confluence OnDemand, you'll need to get a backup from our support team. File a ticket for a backup at support.atlassian.com.

These backups take 2 weeks to be scheduled and completed, since they are in high demand. Also, your hosted instance must be active during the process so be sure to restore your data into an installed instance before you cancel your hosted subscription.
