Linking to a tab on another page using Zen Foundation

J June 26, 2014

Hi,

I am trying to link to a specific tab on a different page.

http://www.brikit.com/display/help/Section+Tabs#Linking(This one is for if the section exists on the same page).

I do not want to use the link as if the name of the page is changed or the page is moved, then the link will break.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks.

We'll combine those two in an upcoming release. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm not sure why we have a name and title. Let me get back to you on that. (Also, we have a product that's replacing Zen called Theme Press. Take a look if you have some time.)

Thanks Robbie. By the way, is there a reason why the Name in the Section Designer doesn't automatically pick up the Section Title? I think this will make it easier to link instead of having to add a Section Name. Users can change the Section Name if they want but would be good if by default it picks up the Section Title.

For the Zen users, please note that you need to add a name in the Section Designer as follows:

If the page is in the same space, your link will look like:

  • <page_title>#<section_name>

If the page is in a different space, your link will look like:

  • <space_key>:<page_title>#<section_name>

When linking to a tab on the current page, your link looks like:

  • #<section_name>

The markup is pretty much the same as here:
