JIRA link issue when two users save the same confluence document at the same time

Matt July 10, 2014

When a confluence document is being edited (linking to different jira issues) by two users, once the document has been saved by both users the JIRA link's ID seem to change and merge together. For example changing a JIRA link from GAP-10 to GAP-10PM-92 causing the link to be invalid and not display the jira ticket details on the confluence document.

Has anyone experienced this issue as well?

That's very unsettling. It seems like having tighter integration with Google docs might help since then we could rely on the more mature merging technology that Google provides. However, we've run into another limitation getting confluence to work with Google due to the fact that atlassian requires that the usernames in atlassian match the first part of the Google email address exactly. We've been happy with jira, but these issues with confluence might not be worth it.

We also tried to use integration with google docs but what we ended up with didn't really work hope you have better luck than we did.

We just experienced this today too! Was there any resolution that you came across?

We didn't find a resolution to this, we may stop using confluence because of this.
