Is there still development ongoing? Compatibility with Confluence 5.8?

We are currently running Confluence Avatar Server 1.2.1 with Confluence 5.6.4

We would like to update Confluence to 5.8.2 (current version).

The last commit to this add-on was in May 2014. Do we have to look for an alternative or is there still work in progress? What about a roadmap for future releases?

Hi Michael,

Just in addition to Martin's answer, as this is not a plugin developed by Atlassian, we actually don't have a development roadmap of this plugin. I do suggest you contact the vendor, as Martin commented, in order to try to confirm if there will be a new release for this plugin.

Also, you could test the plugin in a staging environment for Confluence 5.8.2 to make sure if there will be any issue or not using this plugin.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

You might want to contact the author directly - see Bare in mind the add-on was free.

Thanks everybody for your valuable answers.

I do realize this add-on is free and not being developed by Atlassian, however, with 258 installations in active instances and the add-on page stating "Supported", I expected it to be actively maintained.

Could you lay out to me the exact meaning of "Supported"?

Best regards,

Since there has been no answer by the developer (Justin Sharpo) after contacting him directly via mail, I expect this plugin to be no longer supported.

Also, I am still waiting for an answer to my question above: Could you lay out to me the exact meaning of "Supported"?

Hi Michael,

Basically, a Supported plugin means you have a support channel for that and who will support that. This doesn't means this support will be managed by Atlassian. As example, have a look on these examples:

If you pass the mouse over the Supported icon, you will see that they are supported by different vendors.

On this link you can get more details:

Hope this helps.
