Is there any way to display shared links on the dashboard?

Dave Denis April 27, 2014

We want to display a list of the most recent shared links on the main dashboard so users can see these right when they log in, to help further adoption and engagement with them. I tried adding the following to the Global Layout so they would apper above the activity stream:

$helper.renderConfluenceMacro("{detailssummary:label=shared-links}")

but receive the error when loading the dashboard:

"The page properties report macro must be used within a space."

Is there some other way to display these on the main dashboard?

I don't have the direct answer to your question, but you could create an alternate dashboard in a space and point Confluence to use that as the homepage. At that point you can use macros more easily. There are also ways to include all the things currently on the default dashboard.

I can't wait until the Confluence default dashboard is much more configurable!

Thanks [~julia wester [wittified, llc]] that's actually exactly what we ended up doing. And agreed, looking forward to when the dashboard is as configurable as standard pages!
