Inconsistency observed while inserting Jira Issue Filter macro in Confluence page?

Subrata Roychowdhury February 17, 2021

Hi, while inserting 'Jira Issue/Filter' macro works fine in many Confluence pages it has been observed that there is inconsistent behavior while inserting or editing 'Jira Issue/Filter' macro in some other pages in Confluence. Can there be any suggestion/resolution?

Noticed inconsistent behaviour while inserting "Jira Issue/Filter" macro in Confluence. While in some Confluence pages insertion of "Jira Issue/Filter" macros are happening absolutely fine and they work like a charm following are some other observation that happens inconsistently:

- Aim is to add a "Jira Issue/Filter" macro. In the "Insert Jira/Issue Filter" dialog from the 'Search' menu a filter is associated that correctly shows up the issues in the dialog. A 'Display Option' is chosen (say 'Total issue count'). Now on clicking on 'Insert' button the macro does not get inserted.

- Aim is to edit a "Jira Issue/Filter" macro. A "Jira Issue/Filter" macro that is working in an existing Confluence page (created by the same Owner) is copied in another Confluence page with the intention of editing the macro for the new Confluence page being worked upon. The macro is selected and then the corresponding 'Edit' option is chosen. In the corresponding "Insert Jira/Issue Filter" dialog from the 'Search' menu a different filter is associated that correctly shows up the issues in the dialog. A 'Display Option' is chosen (say 'Total issue count'). Now on clicking on 'Insert' button the macro does not get edited.

Other Users have also observed similar inconsistent issue. Sometimes the insert/edit happens, sometimes they do not.

Our organization is using the Server version as of now.Jira Issue Macro in Confluence.png

Hi @Subrata Roychowdhury

If you are still experiencing issues, I recommend you open a ticket with atlassian support and provide the support zip files for analysis.
