If you choose to run Confluence as a service:
  • The installer will create a dedicated user account, confluence, that will run the service.

I already have ubuntu user lem which owns confluence postgres database. Should I assign confluence database to confluence user to avoid permission errors? or is there a way to clone confluence priveleges to lem?

It's a good idea to have a dedicated user for the database for the application.  You don't need to, but it makes a lot of sense to do it - you'll always know what the account is for and you can keep it simple and limit it to that one purpose.
