Good afternoon,

We've had some difficulty with our confluence instance.

I've added the following to the server.xml file and it seemed to rectify the issues I was having with IE7/8 no problems:

<Valve className="org.apache.catalina.authenticator.NonLoginAuthenticator" disableProxyCaching="true" securePagesWithPragma="false" />

However, users using IE9 experience an entirely different problem:

1. Document is requested

2. Open prompt is clicked

3. Office 2010 requests authentication (doesn't happen in IE8)

4. Repeats request for Autentication

5. Document opens normally except for "Enable Editing" is an option.

6. When user clicks on "Enable Editing" the document is redirected back to a badly distorted confluence home page within the office application

This happens in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

It doesn't happen if I use Firefox / IE 8.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Nathaniel.

Hey Nathaniel,

Depending in which version of Confluence you're using, you may want to have a look in our Supported Platforms page, that way we can see if IE7 is a supported browser for it.
To find the proper Supported plaform page, you just need to type the version of Confluence that you have there along with the name Support Platforms Confluence.

I hope this helps.
