I want to export a page automatically in pdf

Francoise DUCLOS March 30, 2020

I work with comala workflow. I want to keep a version at each step of my validation workflow.

Is it possible to export a page in pdf or docx?

I know I may add restrictions, but do they change the version page? and allow me to trace the changes in my document ????? always automatically

Thanks for your help

Hi @Francoise DUCLOS

You can use the Comala Document Management page activity report to see the version related to each step of your validation workflow - https://wiki.comalatech.com/display/CDML/Page+Activity+-+Page+Tools

To export to PDF or Docx you can export using the Confluence functions (see https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml-139475.html). If you require additional control over your exports, we recommend K15t Scroll Exporter, which you can find on the Atlassian Marketplace

Adding restrictions does not change the page version. At the moment there is no way to track restriction changes. It is an interesting idea!

It is now possible to export to pdf from the workflow directly :-) - you just need Scroll PDF Exporter in addition to Comala Document Management.

Blogpost about this: https://comalatech.com/automatically-create-pdfs-of-your-confluence-pages-with-comala-document-management-and-scroll-pdf-exporter/

Documentation: https://wiki.comalatech.com/display/CDML/pdf-export+macro

Thanks for your return, in fact the lack of trackig changes is difficult to explain to Office users who are willing to use version .

Furthermore, I would like to be able to export my document in a pdf file automatically after each state change.

Thans means also, to have an instruction that I may put in the markup file of my workflow.

Do you have codes examples about that?

Thanks

have a nice day

Hello @Francoise DUCLOS , thanks for accepting my answer :)

We are looking at how we can improve the Page Activity feature, your feedback is useful.

We have an open feature request to have an automatic export to PDF, if you want to know when we release it please open a support ticket so we can record your interest.

Could you clarify what you mean by:

Thans means also, to have an instruction that I may put in the markup file of my workflow.

Do you have codes examples about that?

Kind regards

James
