I'm getting an "SSO Error - SAML Single Sign-on failed." when I click on any Confluence link. I went to the log-in page and created a new account with a new password, but I'm still getting the error.

Hi @James R_ Mullins

Welcome to Atlassian Community,

There might be some configuration issue in SAML configuration with IDP.

Double check the IDP and SSO settings and parameters.

Double check the SAML SSO configuration in confluence, check the Metadata URL, entity settings etc..,

Try checking time sync between IDP and SAML SSO. (some times time difference also causes this issue).

Try to cross check with your IDP team whether the metadata url and entity id are correctly provided for your application.

Please check the below knowledge documentation also.
