We are a large organization and different teams are responsible for their own templates.
As a result we have many dozens of templates.
Is there a best practice in order to not overload the users with such a large amount of templates?
Is there any plan to add some sort of "template categories"?
Jorge, Do they really need to be GLOBAL available to all spaces? or could they only be available to certain spaces? If not, one idea to consider:
Create a page in Confluence that all users have access to. Add a table with columns to that page, that sorts/lists all of the global templates. So in the first column you could put the CATEGORY or team the template belongs to, in the second column the name or description of the template, and in the 3rd column, on each row, use this macro (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Create+from+Template+Macro) to add a button for each template - and configure each button to create the appropriate template in the appropriate space. This way your users could scan the list to find their template, then just click the correspnding button on that row in the table to start the CREATE PAGE dialog. It would take a bit of time to set up the table, but you only have to do it conce, and then make it a Desk Procedure for your Confluence Admins - that when they create a new Global template - they need to update the page to document it.
Hope something like this works for you.
