How to create non-orphaned page and assign parent to orphaned pages?

王亚辉 November 20, 2017

I created a page in root space and it becomes orphaned page by default, I then tried to assign a parent to it in menu. The actions I took:

Assume the space name is ABC

1. Create page ABC_Home in space ABC

2. Create page Page_1

3. Open Page_1, select Move on the top right menu

4. Set new parent page to ABC_Home for Page_1

5. Now Page_1 is under ABC_Home, but ABC_Home is an orphaned page so I cannot see it in pagetree. How to set parent page for page ABC_Home?

I am running Confluence in version 6.5.0.

Two ways to accomplish setting the parent page of an orphaned page are:

  • Go to Space Tools>Content Tools>Reorder Pages, drag + drop the orphan under the desired parent.
  • Go to PageTools (...)>Move>and start typing the desired parent page title, then choose it from the pulldown menu.

I look forward to hearing whether these strategies work for you.
