How to create an app link where both sides need a different display URL

I'm trying to create app links between a Confluence and a JIRA. For local reasons, both of them live behind the same load balancer, which means that neither of them can talk to the other via their external URLs. The application link creation wizard lets me specify different "real" and display URLs for the target application, but not the source application. Which means that the operation fails when the target tries to redirect back to the source.

So how do I create an application link where both sides need different real and display URLs?

I don't think you can - Confluence and JIRA both have a single "base url" which is where the application must be available for it to run properly - you can load balance, proxy or redirect as much as you need to, but the url must be the same as where it's going to run.  So your "real" and "display" urls have to be the same.
