When I click the "forget password" link, I get an email saying:
"A request has been received to reset your password. This user account is managed in an external User directory and Jira is not able to update your password. Please contact your System Administrator if you have further queries."
I use JIRA daily for work and need to access my account but not sure what to do as I cannot reset my password on my own.

you have to ask an administrator within your organization. As the message says, there is an "external user directory" - external for Jira. That means, it must be managed by your company / organization.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
