What are you trying to do this with?  The built-in chart macro?  An add-on?

The built in chart macro.

Where in the docs ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/chart-macro-163415075.html ) did you get the idea that you could do log scales?

Ok, then, is there an add on that does it?

I'm not sure that there is. I seem to remember that I've managed to do it in the past, and the only graphing add-on I've really used is the GraphViz one (I still owe Bob Swift a beer or twelve for that) over at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.confluence.extra.graphviz - but a quick look at the docs doesn't mention exponential or logarithmic axes.
