Granting permissions

Xavier Idrovo November 20, 2019

Is the following hierarchy possible in Confluence?:

MAIN SPACE (Private space)

  • sub space 1 / page (private space)
  • sub space 2 / page (public space)

Any sub pages or sub spaces (assume you can create sub-space), can you grant public level access to sub pages?

This isn't able with how Confluence handles permissions.

I usually tend to think of main space permissions (via Space Tools) as the gate to the castle (handles the entire space).

Page-based permissions are going to apply to the parent and then flow down into the child pages.

For me, I would suggest either flattening out our page hierarchies or consider using another space for public users and organise via space permissions.
