I have a document attached to a confluence page. A simple link to it will result it in being downloaded when clicked. I'd like a link that edits the document directly. The Office Macro creates the right Edit link but I don't want to embed (see) the document on the page. Thanks
GoEdit has the solution I was looking for in their addon: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/de.kontextwork.goeditAny link you hover over will now provide a Direct Edit button that opens the file, saves it directly back to the server and increments the version. Perfect!
Would the WebDav support be of any help to you? It lets you map Confluence as if were a physical drive and then you can edit pages and attchments in native programs such a Word, Photoshop, Excel, etc. Behind the scenes that is what is happening for the Microsoft Office doc types. When you click the "edit" link it opens it in Office via WebDav.
