Hi,
I have the following question, is it possible to disable the PDF Previewer within Confluence? We work with alot of PDFs that have Table of Contents etc. and with the previewer this cannot be used.
The Previewer doesnt allow for us to be flexible with PDF Files.
I have found the following Topic but its old and no solution was found...
Is it possible to use the Adobe reader within the ... (atlassian.com)
Can the Previewer be disabled for just certain file type and not globally?
The only workaround I have is to open the file in a new window and it automatically gets downloaded and can then be opened with Adobe Reader.
Thanks
Jason
Thanks for the quick reply!
The PDFs always open in the previewer, where can I find help with the Macro you suggested?
Attachments macro to display PDFs as a downloadable list
Thanks and have a great day!
Disabling the Confluence Previews plugin globally will universally disable preview functionality for all attachment types, including but not limited to PDFs. Meanwhile, there is no granular setting to selectively disable preview for specific file extensions or spaces.
We can try other options like - Attachments macro to display PDFs as a downloadable list instead of previews.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Navigate to the desired page and open it for editing. Then, insert the macro by clicking "Insert" and selecting "Other Macros." Search for "Attachments" and choose the corresponding macro.
Configure the macro as needed, utilizing parameters to disable previews for large attachments. Finally, save changes and view the page, which will display a downloadable list of attached files.
