Hello,

after installing confluence 5.6.5 in a new server and restoring a backup from a production server we cannot log in Confluence anymore since the exported backup included an app link to a JIRA installation as "User directory".

  • source Confluence 5.6.5 uses JIRA prod to authenticate users.
  • target Confluence 5.6.5 on another server does not have access to JIRA anymore.

1/ How can we modify the target Confluence install + import in order to gain access again ?

2/ It would be interesting to have a "post-import" screen allowing to recreate a new admin user.

Best regards,

One think to check on your JIRA User Server. Check that the confluence application isn't locked down to a specific IP, that could cause this issue.

If it's not then most likely you need to create a new "application" on your JIRA User Server for the new Confluence Server you restored to. I don't use the JIRA User Server but i have seen Crowd behave similarly.

Hello,

your solution works if the "migrated" confluence can reach the original JIRA used as User Server. This wasn't our case (initially), and we needed to perform a few change in /etc/hosts to allow the connection.
