The latest version of Confluence changed the way Tasks can be created. I don't seem to find how to do this anymore.
Please check http://blogs.atlassian.com/2014/04/introducing-confluence-5-5-tasks-work/this link - I think there is needed information
Thanks for your time Alexey but unfortunately that doesn't show how to create a simple task that is not associated to a page in Confluence. Before the latest version of Confluence came out, we were able to create tasks without the need of creating a page first. Although the new functionality is very welcome, we still need to track tasks quickly, without needing to go to a particular Confluence page to add them there.

As for the documentation https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Working+with+Tasksand https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Working+with+Tasks- you should create task at a page now. So seems the current tasks should be linked to the page, sorry.

Also I see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF54/Managing+Tasks+in+Confluence- this page isn't availibe for the latest version - so old functionality seems to be removed.
