Conversion tool for log4j properties file

Is there any kind of tool to convert log4j.properties to log4j2.xml?

And once it is converted, will future upgrades respect it, or overwrite it?

@Robert Egan I am not aware of a tool that does that.  The xml would not be supported by Confluence and I am not aware of any changes to support that format.
