Hi, our whole Confluence system crashes when trying to open a specific page. We could not find information in the logs and we don't know how to have a look at the page to identify the problem. Any ideas?

Hi Stefan,

can you open the page in edit mode ?

You can try an URL like http://your.wiki.url/pages/editpage.action?pageId=12345678

Maybe there you can find what is going wrong with the page

Good Luck

Thomas

Kudos to both of you! We were able to open the page in edit mode using the mentioned link.

The problem was a multi-excerpt macro nested in an excerpt macro. Well, this doesn't make sense, but I'm very supprised anyway, that this has such a big effect. It would be nice, if Atlassian could avoid issues like that with a XML parser, because there is already XML under the hood.

Hi Stephan,

It's difficult to say what might be causing this based on the brief description provided, but it's quite possible that there is either a plugin or some content on the page that is causing your instance to run out of memory and crash, but without seeing your logs and the error you are receiving it would be impossible to say what is causing this with any certainty. Therefore I would suggest that you open a ticket with Support and we'll look into it for you: https://support.atlassian.com

All the best,
John
