I have a a need to do a back up on a Confluence 5.1.2. I go to
Page is sitting and just spinning its wheels.
When i Tail the log file not much really shows up. Just a routince Confluence chatter.
In Temp directory there is a folder created for my backup and it has .properties file.
Nothing else to note. Its just spinning and spinning.
1. Please note atlassian recommend other production backup strategy and don't recommend to use xml backups for the large sites:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Production+Backup+Strategy
2. If you need the xml backup - try to increase memory on the host - there is often memory problems when you do such action
3. As from my experience - it is often impossible to make backup using the button, but somehow backup is successfull as scheduled job. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Configuring+Backups - set up automatic backups and get one from the export folder.
This community is celebrating its one-year anniversary and Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes has all the feels.
