Hi guys,

We have recently updated Confluence to 4.2 and we noticed that after the change we used embedded excel spreadsheet files on Confluence pages the formatting is looking worse than it was in the previews version...

See screenshots for more details. One is the original file and second two is the view after importing to Confluence.

All data that is using center and right aligment after importing to Confluence it is showing with a left aligment. Other thing is that hide cells are not respecting width. Confluence is cutting in a wrong way example with the dates..

Below is the original file with correct alignment:

We are using Office 2010, but the issue is reproduced also when using 2007 files. We were wondering if this is not a browser specific issues, but it looks like there is no big impact on what browser user is using.

Below is the result of the testing the center alignment and hidden data on different version of Confluence and browsers.

Tested on:

Firefox - 14.0.1
Chrome - 20.0.1132.57
IE - 9.0.8112

Is this a BUG? Can someone reproduce the error and have any idea why this is happening?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Mirek

Confluence 5.1.3 and still the same issue.. Any plans for fixing this problem?

Good Office integration could make Confluence really powerful.. We have a new HTML5 viewer for PDFs, Presentations, .. but on the other hand is still not 1 to 1 document without aligment problems.. hoping to see a HTML5 viewer also for Excel...

I face similar issue. Updates done on embedded excel sheet using 'Edit Document' link are not visible in the view. Could you kindly fix this?

Hello,

If you need to have that part of spreadsheets functionality, which regards any calculations, you may consider CelesteCS Math for Confluence. There are versions for both Confluence Server and Confluence Cloud.

Assume you have a table with three columns and three rows on your page – from A1 till C3, where row 1 is the header row. The sum calculation formula for rows 2 and 3 will be simple:

SUM(Table1.A2:C3)

There is a plenty of other functions in the macro, so you may perform any calculations using formulas in EXCEL style.

Thanks!

Hidden cells are still being displayed if one uses the Office Excel macro.

That's unfortunate.

Hi cabaze,

Thank you! It looks like this is the case.. However it sounds also that it is a minor priority and will not be fixed soon..

It looks like there is a JIRA ticket for this:

I'm having similar issues with alignment and breaks (returns) in a cell.
