Confluence Attachment Management

Dear partner,

We use confluence of version 4.2.3 . Would it be possible to limit the attachments of page? We want to some user only can view the attachments of page, but they can not download the attachments.Thank you.

Hello Hsu - 

Our Integrations with Box, Google Drive, Dropbox, Egnyte, and Alfresco allow you to embed files from those repositories (so acts like an attachment), and there is also an option to disallow downloading of the files. 

In this way, your use case is met, and more, if you would like to evolve to this model. You can see a whole set of videos on these here

There's more features than that, like allowing you to edit edit the files from within Confluence, and saving back to repo, extended search including the repos and Confluence, etc.

It seems that if you are at version 4.2.3 - you must be on the Confluence server, not cloud (since cloud SaaS version is later 5.6.X by now..)

If you can view an attachment, you are downloading it.  That's how browsers work - they have to download content in order to show it to the user.
