Confluence 5.3 instance + PostGres DB on one server or Confluence 5.3 + Post Gres DB on different servers which is better

Hi,

Can someone lets us know which of the following configurations is recommended

1. Confluence 5.3 + PostGres DB (Backend for Confluence) on the Same Server

2. Confluence 5.3 + PostGres DB (Backend for Confluence) on different servers

Hi Shreyance,

If your server can support and have enough resources for both Confluence and the database, it is definately better for them to be in the same server. This will reduce the network latency which should give you a better.

Can you let us know the minimum requirements a VM should have to ensure that we have Confluence and DB together.
