Hello,
I am Ralf and seek advice from the experts.
Who has tips for proxy configuration. I can not allow the external DNS query.
What exactly are the steps to lock the connection https://atlassian-domain-for-localhost-connections-only.com? Is the setting made in the proxy or browser client?
Do both browsers (Firefox and IE) support this EDit feature?
Many Thanks
Ralf
Ralf,
Per Administering the Atlassian Companion App:
Proxy and SSL considerations
When a user tries to edit an attached file, Confluence makes a DNS request to
https://atlassian-domain-for-localhost-connections-only.com
, which resolves to localhost (https://127.0.0.1
). This allows Confluence to establish a secure WebSocket connection to the Companion app.If your outgoing internet requests are filtered through a proxy server, you may need to exclude
https://atlassian-domain-for-localhost-connections-only.com
from the browser's forward proxies, otherwise the proxy server won't be able to route the request back to the local machine.
The exact steps required to do this depends on your proxy setup itself. You will want to pass on the above information to your network administrator. They will be more familiar with your company's setup than we will, and will be able to assist you with that configuration.

Shannon
