Changed database server hostname and now confluence throws 404 for root index

Deleted user May 29, 2017

I changed the ipaddress scheme of my LAN as well as the domain name. From the confluence box, I can ping the database box using oldhostname.localdomain and that is what I changed in confluence.cfg.xml. However, when I go to port 8090 I get a 404. What else do I need to change? I thought that was all that would be needed.

You'll need to read the logs to see what is going wrong.  When it starts up, I'd expect some form of "can't communicate with database" error, with some reason it can't log into it.

Turns out the database change was a red herring. It ended up being a corrupted cache.

Your advice applied to that situation too. So thanks.
