Change a Space template into a Global template?

Matt Reynolds May 11, 2015

Hi All,

I'm running Confluence 5.4.4 and I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to convert a template someone has created in a Space into a Global template.

I found this old thread with someone asking the same question: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/157549 and the reply has a link about importing templates. However that page is talking about installing template bundles from the marketplace.

Does anyone know if it's possible to do this?

Thanks!

Matt

Plugin to copy templates. Export and import templates.
Copy 'variables, macros, and other elements. It is not possible to copy-paste.

Hi Matt,

What I did was to simply use the Confluence Source Editor (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.editor.confluence-source-editor if you don't have it installed), and just copied and pasted the code of the space template into a new global template (note: you have to save the page once before the source editor appears).  Maybe that will work for you?
