Can we disable RB add-ons safely in confluence

DES Tools January 29, 2019

We have following service rocket plugins in our confluence and all are enabled -

Confluence version - 5.9.4

  • Composition - 5.1.1
  • Confluence Conveyor - 1.2.1
  • CustomWare Reporting - Core - 1.1.0
  • Page Approval Plugin - 4.2.2
  • Reporting - 6.8.1
  • Scaffolding - 7.5.0
  • Scaffolding Metadata Plugin - 8.1.0
  • ServiceRocket Utility Library - 2.2.6
  • RB Filtering - Confluence - 1.4.0
  • RB Filtering - Core - 1.2.0
  • RB Storage - Confluence - 5.5.0
  • RB Storage - Core - 5.5.0
  • RB Storage - Servlet - 5.5.0
  • RB Supplier - Core - 1.3.0
  • RB Support - Confluence - 5.4.0
  • RB Support - Core - 1.4.0

The question is -

  1. whether we still need RB plugins when we already have servicerocket utility library 2.2.6 installed?
  2. If the answer to above is No, Is it safe to remove these plugin?
  3. Will there be any impact on existing data.

We request a confirmation from support before we make changes in production environment.

Thanks

DES Tools,

It is safe to remove all RB Libraries. However, I'd suggest you to update your Scaffolding to 8.3.0 which is the last compatible version for your Confluence. Because the current version you are using still needs RB Storage Parameters and RB Supplier Confluence.

As for the following plugins:

  • CustomWare Reporting - Core - 1.1.0
  • Scaffolding Metadata Plugin - 8.1.0

You don't need them either,  uninstall them and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the confirmation Sayed

Thanks Mirek, This page is helpful.

So, as per this page we can't remove RB plugins as we are using Scaffolding 7.5.0

Also, this page does not say anything about the following -

  • CustomWare Reporting - Core - 1.1.0
  • Scaffolding Metadata Plugin - 8.1.0

Any Idea?

I also checked if Scaffolding still has dependencies. Therefor I uninstalled all Plugins in our Test stage and the installed Scaffolding 8.20.2. This resulted in automatically getting "ServiceRocket Utility Library" in version 2.5.1 installed.

So it seems Scaffolding still depends on one plugin and installs it automatically.
