Can confluence load plugin jar from local file system

Zheng Wang June 11, 2015

Hi, I got a problem about confluence plugin. Now the add-ons installed by user are loaded from table PLUGINDATA, then put into directory plugin-cache. Is there some configuration that we can load this plugin from local file system like JIRA installed-plugin directory?

Hi Zheng,

Additionally to Norbert's answer, the default directory for Confluence bundled plugins, where all the JAR files are stored is confluence-install-directory/confluence/web-inf/atlassian-bundled-plugins.

There's no directory with JAR files for the user-installed plugins. All these are uploaded with UPM, just like Norbert commented.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

So when confluence start up, the user-installed plugin must be loaded from database not file system directory?

Via the Universal Plugin Manager an administrator can upload JAR files of relevant plugins from the file system into your Confluence instance - see under https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/UPM/Installing+add-ons!
