Can comments be made in the Editor?

Is it possible to insert editing comments in the Editor that are hidden in Viewing Mode, similar to html/css-comments.

For example

Since you have the server version you could create a user macro like below and then you could just use the editor like normal to put in the comments. One you create the user macro you will be able to put in a comment macro that will only show in edit mode.

Macro Body Processing:

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, as far as I can determine, none of those offer an easy on-the-fly solution for editors to make editing comments hidden from normal viewing.

The placeholder text one works very well and you can enter it pretty easily from the Source Editor. Do you have Confluence Server or Cloud?
