Can I use exchange server instead of SMTP for outgoing notification email?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Configuring a Server for Outgoing Mail

Same as the title.
My organization uses exchange.

There's no SMTP for the organization. How can I use exchange instead of SMTP?

You need an SMTP enabled email server to be able to send mail.  Exchange does handle this, unless you've turned it off, so it should be seen as a standard SMTP server.
