Can I rename 'confluence1' user created automatically by the confluence binary?

James Fraser

I've now installed confluence twice, having made a mistake in the first instance. I used the binary for installation, and now everything is associated with an account named 'confluence1'. Is there any harm in changing this user to confluence and making the appropriate changes to the directory perms/ownership?

Hi James,

It's okay to make changes of the users that is created by binary installation. however, please make sure all the permission are mapped to the changed username. In addition to that, just as additional, you can also delete the users. However, please do change association of permission as well.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Josua
