How do you know if you are on Confluence Cloud or Server/Data Center?

We get this question a lot! And there is a very simple and quick answer:

💻 Look at the URL.

If your Confluence URL is https://<company>.atlassian.net you are on Confluence Cloud.

If the URL does not have atlassian.net in it, then you are on Server/Data Center.

🏠 Look at the bottom of your Home.

Another way to check is when you are on your Home dashboard, scroll to the very bottom. if you see a version of the following text with a series of version numbers, you are Server/Data Center.

"Powered by Atlassian Confluence 7.16.0"

We hope this helps but don't hesitate to drop a question below if you have any.

@Brittany Sudlow so subtle and simple, yet so important for the community to know! It helps us help them faster and with the right answers when they know what platform they are on! Bookmarked for future reference...

Now it all makes sense about why https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-6999 is not being really moved forward after all this time... they need to be able to tell what type of hosting is being done and people would not be able to answer it without this distinction.

:-P

Clicking "Help", the (?) next to your profile, then finding "About <system>" will tell you Server, Cloud or DC, as well as the version if it's not Cloud.

I like @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Suggestion as I feel it will have longevity. At some point cloud will have custom domain support hopefully. 😉
