Sign up to beta test Atlassian's new product navigation!

Hi everyone,

The Atlassian Navigation team has been relentlessly working to deliver a new, modern navigation system that will enhance consistency, flexibility, and efficiency.

Following the success of our Early Access Program (EAP) in October 2024, we’re now extending an open invite to everyone for our Beta launch.

Important note: The Beta includes the new navigation across the following Atlassian products:

  • Confluence

  • Jira

  • Jira Product Discovery

  • Jira Service Management

  • Atlassian Home

What is the new navigation?

At Atlassian, our mission is to unleash the potential of every team, and navigation (top and side) in our products is central to how teams find and move work forward. We’ve heard that the existing navigation can sometimes feel inconsistent, rigid, and cumbersome, and used this feedback to build a new navigation.

The new navigation hopes to:

  • Deliver a unified look and feel: Enjoy a seamless and consistent experience across Atlassian products, reducing friction and boosting efficiency as you effortlessly switch between them.

  • Empower you to customize your workspace: Personalize our products to fit your unique way of working and individual preferences.

  • Enable you to stay in the flow: Declutter your space, focus on what matters, and get to your work with fewer clicks.

  • Uplift the experience with a new look and feel: Atlassian’s updated visuals—featuring new color scales, iconography, and typography—offer a fresh, modern experience while enhancing readability, accessibility, and scalability.

What is the Beta launch?

After weeks of rigorously testing functionality and feature parity internally and with a closed Early Access Program (EAP), we’ve validated key assumptions, gathered feedback, and learnt from the cohort.

We’re thrilled to invite you to our Beta launch, where you can test Atlassian’s new navigation, validate the experience, and provide feedback that will shape what we launch for all customers.

Join our Beta launch

Are you an admin?

As the new navigation is enabled at the site level, all users on the site URL will have it enabled by default. Don’t worry—you and your users can turn on/off the new navigation at any time, and it won’t affect other users.

So we’re looking for admins to sign up to enable the new navigation at the site level.

And yes, you can use the new navigation in testing and Sandbox environments.

Sign up now

If you’re not an admin, and you’re interested in participating in this Beta launch, you can:

  • Reach out to your admins

  • Sign up now and leave your admin’s details

In addition, join our focus group to ask questions, raise concerns, and connect with the team working on the new navigation.

Note: If you’re part of the EAP we launched in October 2024, the new navigation will still be enabled on your site so you and your users can continue using it.

What we're looking for?

During the Beta launch, our goal is to collect feedback from users and learn from you and your team.

Share with us:

  • Bugs, issues, and improvements in the new navigation

  • Any tasks you found challenging to complete using the new navigation

  • What’s working well for you

  • What’s not working well for you

  • Any other comments or suggestions, no matter how minor

@Ned Lindau

The navigation switches from side to top and back again every few years.  What I could really do with is several new "work" icons (issue type avatars) to choose from. Preferably with additional colors so they stand out from the current "standard" ones.  Or even include all the existing ones from across all the products so we can use them for other purposes even if we don't have discovery or service management.

Is that included in your new design?  If not, can it be?

@Nicole Downes thanks for the feedback! When you say "issue type avatars" are you referring to something in Confluence or Jira?

Hi Folks I signed up a few times now but I'm still eagerly waiting to get into the beta program for our demo. Could you please enable it?
I was already part in the old demo with the chrome plugin that doesn't exist anymore and would need it quite a few times to prepare our clients for that big upcoming change.

Can you please let me in?

Thanks

Hi @Ned Lindau ,
How should we raise bugs? We are finding our Zephyr add on doesn't work in the new navigation, we get an error, even through Zephyr doesn't seem to have an error their end, so assuming it is due to the new navigation.

I see in the article, that this can be turned on/off by user. I can see how to do that in Confluence, but not in Jira. Could you provide some additional steer on this please? Currently it looks like we might need to disable site wide unfortunately. Thanks!

Hey @Karin van Driel — please join this group to provide surface bugs directly to our team. Additionally, you should see a feedback collector in the bottom-left corner, please use that as well!
