I've been publishing index of my repositories on http://mekk.bitbucket.org (using bitbucket pages feature - see https://pages.bitbucket.io/ for example). This worked nicely … but doesn't work anymore. Opening that url today redirects to bitbucket.com main page.
I noticed that there exist https://mekk.bitbucket.io which shows that content. Is this the url I should use? Are there any chances to provide redirect from the old one? (links to the old page are scattered over internet, to fix them I'd need to spent quite a lot of time, and not all those links are editable by me…)
Also, I found https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/publishing-a-website-on-bitbucket-cloud-221449776.html page which suggests my repo should be named mekk.bitbucket.io. Does it mean I have to rename the repo to keep the updates working, or will mekk.bitbucket.org work too?
Hi Marcin! Static websites hosted on Bitbucket Cloud are now accessed at bitbucket.io. We sent an email out last year informing users about that change, and we have been redirecting traffic from the .org to .io from January 16th, 2017 until March 1st, 2017. As of March 1st 2017, requests to .org are no longer supported.
To keep it working you'll need to rename your repo to mekk.bitbucket.io, as you could see at Publishing a website on Bitbucket Cloud.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Regards,
Ana
