what's a good system to monitor and measure stash uptime? something like a dashboard where users can see the status of system easily

Hi Robbin,

Nagios is a popular choice for monitoring uptime of internally hosted web applications and infrastructure. If you just want to check if Stash is up and serving pages, you can hit the applinks manifest URL at <your_stash_instance>/rest/applinks/latest/manifest - this URL is nice as it can also be used for most of Atlassian's other java products, including JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, FishEye and Crucible.
