Unable to connect to bitbucket server

Apoorva HR August 27, 2020

Hi,

I have configured bitbucket with external database postgresql. I was able to access the bitbucket server through URL http://<server Ipaddress>:7990. Later i configured to secure server connection using atlassian document section 'Securing Bitbucket Server with Tomcat using SSL'. After that i was able to connect using https with port number 8443. But now i am not able to reach the bitbucket server becuase it is not listening at port 8443 even after starting bitbucket server using bin/start-bitbucket.sh. when i checked the status of atlbitbucket and postgresql in server it showing Active(exited). please help me to resolve this issue.

Thank you

It sounds like Bitbucket is trying to start up and failing for some reason.

You should read the application log to find out why it is starting and then stopping.  Should be the files in <bitbucket home>/log

Hi,

I found out the problem. The bitbucket web server was not getting started. It should be started with -u option. it's working now.
